Cleveland cavaliers got the lottery for the draft, the 1st and 4th pick. They are predicted to pick Kyle Irving as their 1st overall pick. I don't think that's smart. They should take someone with a little bit more college experience like the bigger and stronger derrick willaiams, and then take kemba walker at 4th and I think that would be much better picks to rebuild their team around.

Sometimes Even The Experts Get it Wrong
So the NFL draft is finally over and im glad it is. I don't know about you but im tired of ESPN annalyst's projecting a new mock draft every week just for them to get mostly every pick wrong. Just tell me how good the player is and what team needs to fill that position! On another note, many annalyst's believe Cam Newton will be a bust as a number 1 pick and one group went as far as calling his smile fake. This scrutinizing should be frowned upon because it has nothing to do with football or even Newton's character, but it's more like a random insult which was unneccesary. I believe Newton will do just fine, even with the bad team he is in. Don't believe me? Keep these two things in mind. They made the playoffs a couple of years ago which means most of that team is still intact. Also Tampa Bay was horrible two seasons ago but last year drafted a decent (not Newton caliber) qb in Josh Freeman and in his first year he nearly took them to the playoffs. So with a ton of doubt on Cam, I hope he shines in Carolina.
Nba first round playoffs rap up
The most surprising finish to the first round is the number 8 seed Memphis grizzles beating the number 1seed San Antonio spurs 4-2 in a 7 game series. Some analysis believed it would be a good match up because Memphis has big players to match up with the spurs and they proved that they were the difference maker in that series. This is only the second time a 8th seed beat a number 1 in the past ten years. Oklahoma city, LA lakers, and Dallas also advance in the west. In the east Atlanta also upset the Orlando magic in the 4-5 match. They also beat them 4-2 in the series. Chicago,Boston and also Miami advanced to the next round. This second round will be interesting to watch.

Another NBA prospect from Long Island New York
I Love to see players that i watched play High school basketball in long island make it to the NBA. I only know of two players off the top of my head that is currently playing in the NBA and played at a high school in long island, and that's Danny Green from North Babylon and A.J Price from Amityville. Now There's another player that played at Half Hollow Hills West named Tobias Harris who has entered his name into the 2011 draft after one year of playing college basketball at Tennessee. He had a great career in high school and played a very important role on the Tennessee team. I hope he goes on to have a good career in the NBA and represent well for long island.

The Rise and Fall of Athletes: A History Lesson- The Black Sox
Way before the steroid scandals of the 90's and 2000's, MLB had a plethora of other issues it had to combat. In 1919, the Chicago White Sox reached the World Series and where very close to attaining baseball's ultimate prize. But rather then seizing the opportunity to be major league champs, 8 members of the team decided to take another approach. These players, including the mastermind of the plan and their first baseman Arnold Gandil, planned and went forth in throwing the World Series. They took such drastic action due to resentment toward their club owner, Charles Comiskey, whom they disliked because of his well know reputation as a underpaying owner. A year later the incident was investigated and the eight players where banned from the MLB for life. Imagine this took place in any sport today? It would surely be a HUGE story. The actions of these players when faced with the chance to win a title was selfish and will always be synonymous with the many scandals thorugh baseballs 100+ years of existance.

The hero in Portland
The Portland Trailbrazers found themselves in a whole when they came back home down 0-2 in a best of 7 game series against Dallas. Portland was in desperate need of a spark from a player on the team to help them win both home games. The spark came surprisingly from Brandon Roy. He was a 2006-07 rookie of the year and a 3 time all-star. But Roy unfortunately had double knee surgery this year and has no cartilage in his knees. The past two seasons Roy hasn't been playing much because of injury. This year after surgery he was reinserted into the line up but coming off the bench with limited minutes. Roy complained about not playing more minutes during the series after game 2 and during game 3 when he got more minutes he showed why he deserved more minutes. He scored 16 points in game 3 to help them win 97-92. In game 4 Portland was in a deep hole down 18 points in the 4th quarter. Roy put the team on his back with 24 points off the bench and scoring or assisting the last 16 points. That game was very interesting and the rest of the series should be.

Yankees Keep Winning, Boston Creeping Closer
Pic via yahoosports
Prior to the baseball season every sports writer and radio personnel I've heard from had Boston winning the A.L. East and some even had them winning it all. With that being said, they started off extremely slow and posted a 0-6 record through their first few games. But as of late, they have picked up their play and have done so with massively improved pitching from their starters. As for their long time rivals, the Yankees continue to play good baseball and pulled off a win earlier today after Mo (Mariano Rivera for those that don't know) gave up the lead in the bottom of the 9th in Baltimore. With the win, the Yankees stay atop the A.L. East while the other teams, which many "sports people" favored going into the season, play catch up. In all, this will be a grueling season for the improved Red Sox and the consistent Yankees.By: Jason
